The City Youth Council (Stadtjugendring Würzburg) of the Bavarian Youth Council (Bayerische Jugendring) is a public corporation and the consortium of 40 youth organizations in Würzburg with approximately 25,000 members and 2,500 volunteers. The statutory tasks include the local political interests of all young people in the city. The European volunteer will be part of our team. He/she is integrated in the preparation of, execution of and reflection on programs and initiatives in which the City Youth Council is involved.
– educational work in the area of intercultural openness in youth work and schools, participation in activities offered by member organisations of the City Youth Council,
– helping in Summer Camps organised by member groups during school summer holidays,
– initiating contact to partner cities; preparation, participation and assistence during international exchanges with partners,
– performing office work, such as telephoning and computer work.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will receive: room in a flat with other volunteers, pocket money, food money, German language course, monthly ticket for the local transport, insurance, reimbursement of the international travel costs (two ways), Bahncard 25, pedagogical, organizational and personal support. The project is coordinated by an experienced EVS coordinating organisation Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken (www.jubi-unterfranken.de), which is supporting around 10-15 volunteers in the region a year. TRAINING DURING THE PROJECT
Additionally the volunteer will take part in two training programs organized by the Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken together with his/her mentor: – Coach für interkulturelle und rassismuskritische Jugendarbeit – Betzavta – Demokratie Training After the two training programms the volunteers will be multipliers in those topics.
