What is ESC?
The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) under Erasmus + give youngsters an opportunity to volunteer abroad for longer or shorter periods. These projects are open for youngsters between age 17-30.
As a volunteer, youngsters can work for a socially useful, non-profit organization. The duration of the project is a minimum 2 months and maximum 12 months for a long-term project, and a minimum 2 weeks and a maximum 2 months in case of a short-term project. There are several areas to choose from, such as youth and children’s programs, the social field, culture, the arts, the environment or sport.
The European Union provides financial support for the implementation of voluntary service in the European Solidarity Corps through a call for proposals: it sets a lump sum for the running of the project, travel, accommodation, board, insurance, language training and pocket money.
